Honoring Our Mentors: A Labor of Love

At Linked Africa, our work is defined by the connections we build, the knowledge we share, and the futures we help shape. As we wrapped up our fiscal year 2025, we celebrated the heart of our community—our mentors—at our last hashtag#MentorConnect event of the year.

❓What is MentorConnect?
MentorConnect is more than just a networking event; it’s a dynamic gathering created exclusively for Linked Africa mentors. This event is a unique opportunity to build meaningful connections, share insights, and strengthen the vibrant community that makes our program so successful. It’s a chance to celebrate the dedication and passion that drives our mentors every day.

🥳 A Special Labor Day Celebration
This year’s final MentorConnect held a special significance as we tied it to the spirit of Labor Day. At Linked Africa, our “labor” is mentoring. It’s the dedicated hours, the thoughtful guidance, and the unwavering support that our mentors pour into their relationships. We are profoundly grateful for this labor of love.

The highlight of the event was the celebration of three incredible mentors: Yveline JB Morgan, Sophia Anong, and Elisabeth Carrio. Their commitment to our community is truly inspiring.

➡️ Elisabeth Carrio completed four mentoring relationships.
➡️ Sophia Anong completed three mentoring relationships.
➡️ Yveline JB Morgan completed two mentoring relationships.

Together, these remarkable women have made a monumental impact. They have guided mentees across 9 countries, delivered over 100 mentorship modules, and dedicated more than 120 hours to their mentees. This extraordinary effort has helped to build skills, boost confidence, and open doors for future leaders across Africa.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our mentors who are currently in a relationship and those who are awaiting a match. Your commitment is the foundation of our success.

To the mentees of these celebrated mentors—Sino Mankayi, Jaka Bayo, Comfert Giramia, Djahou WANVOEGBE, Nancy JOHNSON, Lucy Gitonga, Afi Gbolovi, Kadjatou Rifkatou DRABO, and Tanaka Marvelous Muradzikwa—thank you for your trust and dedication. You are an essential part of this journey, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

To all our other mentees, both current and future, remember that you are the reason we do this work. Your ambition and potential fuel our mission. Whether you are already in a mentoring relationship or considering applying, know that Linked Africa is a community ready to welcome you, guide you, and help you realize your dreams.

We look forward to a new fiscal year filled with new connections, growth, and continued success.
