Once you’ve identified your guiding principle, the real work begins: putting that compass into action. Knowing your “why” is the first step; living it out is the daily practice.

The Compass in Action
————————-
This isn’t about creating a perfect, flawless map. It’s about building a framework for decision-making that aligns with your core. Think about your principle—whether it’s service, growth, or influence—and then consider how you can apply it to the small, everyday choices you make.

❓Does this project align with my principle of service?
❓Will this conversation help me or others achieve growth?
❓Is this a healthy way for me to influence my community?

Your principle acts as a filter, helping you say no to opportunities that don’t align and yes to those that do. This clarity frees up your energy and time, allowing you to invest in what truly matters. Instead of doing “too much,” you start doing the right things.

The journey isn’t about getting it right every single time. There will be moments when you lose your way, take a wrong turn, or feel disoriented. That’s a normal part of the process. The purpose of your internal compass isn’t to prevent you from ever getting lost; it’s to help you find your way back home.

When you feel overwhelmed or off track, go back to the source. Revisit the questions that helped you define your principle. Reconnect with the people and environments that feed your vision. This is your reset button.

Ultimately, your guiding principle is more than just a concept—it’s the foundation for a life of intentionality and purpose. It’s the difference between drifting and directing.

So, as you continue to draw your map, remember that the most important thing is to keep checking in with your compass.
