Mentorship Program Policy

Mission: Mobilize long-term global relationships to form a powerful network that uses knowledge sharing as the way to create flourishing African professionals across the world.

Mentor Responsibilities:

    • Be reliable and committed, attending meetings and responding promptly.
    • Offer guidance and support, sharing expertise without dictating solutions.
    • Provide constructive feedback, helping mentees identify strengths and weaknesses for improvement.
    • Encourage goal setting and celebrate successes, recognizing and acknowledging achievements.
    • Maintain confidentiality, respecting mentees’ privacy and avoiding sharing personal information.
    • Foster a safe and inclusive space, treating everyone with respect regardless of background.
    • Promote the program, encouraging others to join and expand its reach.

Mentee Responsibilities:

    • Be respectful and appreciative, valuing your mentor’s time and expertise.
    • Communicate clearly and openly, articulating needs, goals, and challenges effectively.
    • Come prepared for meetings, having questions, topics for discussion, and progress updates.
    • Take initiative and be proactive, seeking out resources, asking questions, and acting on goals.
    • Be receptive to feedback, listening openly and using it to improve.
    • Maintain professional boundaries, avoiding requests for personal favors or financial assistance.
    • Respect confidentiality, not sharing personal information about mentors or participants.
    • Engage with the program community, utilizing resources and contributing to its growth.

Professional Boundaries:

    • Solicitation of money, visa assistance, or any request outside program objectives is strictly prohibited and may result in termination.
    • Romantic or personal relationships between mentors and mentees are not permitted.
    • Harassment or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.

Reporting Violations:

Any violation of this policy should be reported immediately to program organizers at [email protected].
We have clear procedures for addressing violations and take them seriously.
